K-Beauty Went Global. Is K-Fashion Next? — Ft. GREEDILOUS

Last week, Seoul Fashion Week left DDP for the first time in its history — and at Lotte World Tower, the show everyone talked about sent a humanoid robot down the runway in a tulle skirt. K-beauty conquered the world. K-pop conquered the world. So we’re asking: is K-fashion next?

We sat down with the designer half a step ahead of everyone. Younhee Park spent 15 years at Korea’s biggest fashion houses before launching GREEDILOUS in 2009. Dubbed the Queen of Print, her pieces have been worn by Beyoncé, she staged the world’s first AI-designed collection, put stretchable displays on clothing — and this season, walked her finale beside a robot.

We asked her the questions behind the spectacle: what made her leave a safe career to build her own name, what print can say that nothing else can, why K-fashion hasn’t had its global moment when everything else Korean has — and why she cried when her robot ran out of battery mid-show.

No sponsorship, no promotion. Just an unfiltered conversation with the designer testing where fashion goes next.
